Marco is the friend who knows me best, but we didn't like each other at first sight. We met ten years ago at a summer camp where we both worked as volunteers. He was the loud, sociable one who made everyone laugh, and I was the quiet one who preferred books. I thought he was a bit stubborn; he thought I was boring.
Everything changed one evening when a storm cut the power in the camp. Marco was the person who calmed the children down, and I was the one who found the candles. We spent the whole night talking and realised we had a lot in common: we both loved old films and hated being late.
Since then we have been through a lot together. He's the kind of person who always keeps his word, and he has been there for me when I lost my job. We fell out only once, over a silly football argument, and made up the next day. We now live in different cities, but we keep in touch every week. He's someone whose advice I trust completely.
