- persuade + to do; convince + that / of: convince of the need; persuade to act. В американском convince to do встречается, но на экзамене разводите.
- refute в газетах часто = deny; в точной речи — только с доказательством.
- infer «подразумевать» — ошибка, которую отмечают; the writer implies, the reader infers.
- Оценочные слова выдают позицию: назвав человека stingy, вы уже спорите.
