Обоснованный выбор на B2 держится на критериях (criteria), названных заранее, оценке каждого варианта по ним (merits / limitations, falls short on …), решающем факторе (the decisive factor) и выводе с условием (on balance …, provided that …). Нюансы
- criterion (ед.) / criteria (мн.): one criterion, three criteria.
- outweigh: порядок слов определяет вывод — X outweighs Y = X важнее.
- provided that в выводе превращает выбор в договор: «да, если …».
- Назвать критерии до оценки — честнее: иначе критерии подбираются под уже принятое решение.
