Условия и приоритеты: срок, объём, качество и ответственность
Любой рабочий договор держится на четырёх условиях: срок (deadline, milestones), объём (scope, deliverables), качество (standard, quality) и ответственность (who is accountable, who signs off). Нельзя улучшить всё сразу — это trade-off: быстрее значит меньше или хуже. Переговоры начинаются с того, что из четырёх non-negotiable, а чем можно пожертвовать.

Ошибки новичков: the deadline is until Friday → the deadline is Friday / it's due by Friday; responsible of → responsible for; priority is quality без артикля допустимо, но the most priority → the top / main priority.
Нюансы
- scope — неисчисляемое: the scope of the project; «расширение объёма без оплаты» — scope creep.
- accountable — отвечает и отчитывается (accountable to the client); responsible — выполняет.
- sign off + что: sign off the design; американское sign off on тоже встречается.
- prioritise (BrE, -ise); в списке приоритетов «over» — выше чего.
