Эти слова — каркас любого доступного обзора; глаголы поведения (trade down, cut back on, bring forward) описывают реакцию.
|---|---|---|
| стимул | incentive to do / for · disincentive · reward · penalty | A discount is an incentive to buy now; delivery fees are a disincentive. |
| ожидание | expectation(s) of · anticipate · bring purchases forward · put off buying | Expectations of higher prices bring purchases forward. |
| привычка | out of habit · brand loyalty · inertia · impulse purchase | Most people buy the same brand out of habit. |
| ограничение | disposable income · budget · price-sensitive · afford | Students are highly price-sensitive. |

| in real terms (с поправкой на инфляцию) | Disposable income fell in real terms. |
|---|---|---|---|
| стимул | incentive / disincentive; encourage + кого + to; discourage + кого + from + -ing | A discount is an incentive to buy now. High tax discourages people from driving.

| trade down / up | перейти на более дешёвое / дорогое | Many traded down to supermarket own brands. |

- incentive + to do (an incentive to buy) или + for (an incentive for firms).
- demand for, не
demand on; supply of.
- Русское «экономить на» — cut back on / economise on; «сэкономить» (сумму) — save.
