First Conditional: если рейс задержат, мы опоздаем
First Conditional — реальная будущая ситуация и её результат: If the flight is delayed, we'll miss the connection. В условии после if — Present Simple (хотя речь о будущем), в результате — will. Это главное отличие от русского «если задержат — опоздаем», где оба глагола в будущем.

Сравните с русским: «если задержат» — у нас будущее время, по-английски Present Simple. Правило одно: в части с if будущего нет.
Нюансы
После if — не will: If the flight will be delayed → If the flight is delayed. Это ошибка номер один у русскоговорящих.
Запятая после if-части, если она первая; в обратном порядке запятой нет.
delay — существительное и глагол: a two-hour delay; the flight is delayed (пассив). be late — о человеке и транспорте: the train is late.
miss — «опоздать на» (miss the train) без предлога; miss to the train — ошибка.
