Факт и позиция: обозначаем источник и степень уверенности
В сводке каждое утверждение несёт метку: чей это факт (the report states, attributed to) или чья позиция (maintains, claims, acknowledges), и насколько это установлено (states — suggests — it is claimed — unverified). Косвенная речь (тема 33) и глаголы речи (insist, concede, point out) — инструмент; главное — не смешать факт одной стороны с общим фактом.

Нюансы
- maintain — «продолжать утверждать» (несмотря на сомнения); state — нейтрально заявлять.
- acknowledge — признать неохотно или формально; сильнее нейтрального say.
- on record as saying — сказано публично и зафиксировано; можно цитировать.
- Признание против собственного интереса (acknowledged, conceded) — обычно самый надёжный элемент источника.
