Прогноз и неопределённость: вероятный и запасной сценарий
Прогноз на B2 — не одна дата, а сценарии: вероятный (our projection is …), лучший и худший (best- / worst-case scenario) и запасной план (contingency plan) с условием (in the event of …, should … — инверсия). Плюс запас (buffer, allow for) и честная оговорка (subject to change, bound to). Модальные глаголы прогноза — из темы 24: will, is likely to, might, bound to.

Ошибки новичков: Should the supplier will be late → Should the supplier be late; in the worst case scenario — допустимо, но чаще in a worst-case scenario / worst case; we expect that to finish → we expect to finish.
Нюансы
- Should в начале условия = «если вдруг» (маловероятно, формально); глагол после подлежащего — без to: Should the funding fall through.
- in the event of + существительное (a delay); с предложением — in the event that … (реже).
- allow for — заложить в план (время, деньги); allow — разрешить.
- Прогноз без оговорки звучит наивно; с диапазоном и запасным планом — профессионально.
